Since when have dolls been around?
Dolls have been around since the Stone Age. Archaeologists repeatedly find dolls made of bone and stone that prove this. Later, carved dolls, patch dolls and porcelain dolls were added. Modern dolls have been around since the 15th century, industrial doll production since about the 19th century.
In the 1960s, toy manufacturer Zapf produced robust plastic dolls. Plastic was cheap and therefore everyone could afford a doll. Almost at the same time, the Barbie doll from Mattel came onto the market, to which there are all sorts of accessories godlike productions. Barbie dolls are known to practically everyone today.
